I acquired an AKS-74 by cyma in a trade, but the wooden hand-guard was a terrible orange hue.
So, after sanding it down to take the original finish off, I used black and brown acrylic paint wiped on and off to give it an more weathered look, followed by oiling it with linseed oil for a much better finish. I’m currently considering taking fine steel wool to the receiver to give it a more used finish on the metal as well.
I went for a bike ride up and around Haughmond Hill the day after I returned from university, and after finally finding the leads to get my pictures from my phone, this is the view towards south shropshire greeting me at the summit. It’s a shame it was as overcast and windy as it was.
So, I’m home from University for the summer. I can’t have my room back from my brother* until the end of the week, which means I can’t set up my proper computer until then. It also means I can’t unpack most of the rest of my stuff as there is nowhere for it to go. And on top of this, there are various things about being up north I miss.
*he’s redecorating his room, and as he started before I got back, he stole my room.
